The Women’s Institute is a National Organisation which celebrated its centenary in 2015. The Datchworth branch was formed in 1927.It is a very friendly WI. Our current membership is around 50 and we welcome new members. Anyone in the village is welcome to come along as a visitor for at least 2 meetings before deciding to become a full member.
Our entry into the Christmas Tree Festival
Our theme was “Show The Love” and we made numerous green hearts depicting saving the environment and things we care about which we want to save. Rather than an artificial tree we opted for natural branches sprayed white which showed our green hearts to perfection. We did not win this year but we really enjoyed the project.
After taking down the tree we used our green hearts to Show The Love and decorate the village phone box……………
Monthly Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.30 pm in Datchworth Village Hall where we enjoy talks and demonstrations from our visiting speakers. Visitors are always welcome.
