Datchworth Yarnbusters

A friendly, local group of guerrilla knitters who chat, have fun and maybe do a bit of knitting or crochet.

We’re a very friendly, mixed-ability, mixed-aged group who love what we’re doing; using our skills to brighten up the village and hopefully raise a smile. We enjoy sharing our skills and ideas and welcome anyone who wishes to join us. You don’t have to be an expert in knitting or crochet, even if you don’t know one end of a knitting needle from the other we can soon teach you! Likewise, if you like what we’re doing and have any spare wool or unfinished projects then there is a box outside Bala’s shop where you can donate for our use; any colour, any weight, it will all be useful. Also if you have buttons, beads, stuffing etc that you are happy to donate, it would all be much appreciated.

From Remembrance Poppies, to Christmas Decorations, Easter Bunnies to School Children, we’ve been decorating the village since 2023. Here are some examples of our woolly creations:
