GP Practice – Managing The Coronavirus Impact

As from earlier last month, and in line with the latest NHS England guidance, the Knebworth and Marymead Practice will be changing its appointments to mainly telephone consultations. The purpose of this is to reduce the risk to our vulnerable and older patients and our clinical staff becoming infected with the Corona virus.  When you contact the surgery you will be given an appointment and time, but this will be conducted by telephone. If as a result of the telephone call, the GP or nurse agrees that a face to face
appointment is needed, this can then be booked. As you can appreciate, home visits will have to be kept to the minimum, based on the GP’s
assessment of the need.

This will allow the Practice to ensure that essentials, like prescriptions, reviewing test results, discharge letters and referrals are kept going.

Also remember there are a wide range of services that allow you to
contact the surgery via our website, via email, use eConsult (the online
triage service) and online access to your medical records.

The Practice will be reviewing this on a daily basis, so please continue to look at our website or our Facebook page for the latest update.

Thank you for your understanding at this time.
